MCP server

One line. It runs on your computer.

dataready is an MCP server that runs on your computer, inside your app's folder. It reads your app, builds its synthetic community there and keeps everything in .dataready/. From us it fetches only the personas and the know-how. Your coding agent does the thinking and the walking.

Install

Package npx -y dataready-mcp

Needs Node.js 22.13 or newer. The first time you use it, it opens a sign-in page in your browser. Type your email, click the link we send (or type the six-digit code from the same mail), and confirm. No password, no account to manage. The sign-in is kept in your user settings folder; your app's data stays in .dataready/ in your project.

Claude Codein your app's folder
claude mcp add dataready -- npx -y dataready-mcp

Add -s project to write .mcp.json for your whole team. Then say map my app; the first time, it opens a sign-in page.

Under the hood

The tools, in plain words

On your computer: app_profile_extract, app_profile_set, work_submit, dataready_status, dashboard_url, sign-in and help. For a quick check of a public page, on the quick-check server:

dataready_help

Tells your agent which tool fits what you said.

dataready_agents_search

Finds people in the crowd by words or filters: market, industry, device, skepticism.

dataready_agent_get

One person's full profile.

dataready_walk_brief

The brief for one person on one page: who they are, what to do, what to answer.

dataready_walk_submit

Takes their answers back, scores them and writes the report page.

dataready_panel_start

Picks a varied group of 3 to 50 people for an audience and hands out the briefs.

dataready_panel_submit

Collects the panel's answers in batches and builds the combined report.

dataready_report

Gives you back the link and access code of a test.

dataready_agent_propose

Sends a new person to review.

dataready_proposal_status

Pending, approved or not taken.

Your data

What we see, and what we never see

We never see

Your code, your files, your passwords, your app's profile or its community: dataready reads your app on your computer and keeps the results there, in .dataready/. The page is opened by your own agent, with its own tools. We tell it never to type real personal data, never to pay and never to log in with real credentials.

We keep, briefly

Your sign-in email, and a counter of know-how downloads. For quick checks on the quick-check server: the persona answers and the tested address (without its query string) for seven days, so the report page works. Report pages are private: you need the access code, which we also email to you.

Only if you ask

If your tool has no browser, ask for a text snapshot: we read the public page once and pass its text to your agent. Nothing from it is stored.

Fair use

Up to 200 single walks and 10 panels an hour per account, panels of up to 50 people. Plenty for real work, not enough for abuse.
